Sophie Steenstrup

Sophie has since 2012 been a PhD-student at the Oslo Sports Trauma Research Center at the Norwegian School of Sports Science and defended her work in 2018. The title of her PhD-project was "Head injuries among FIS World Cup alpine and freestyle skiers and snowboarders". She has also been running the FIS Injury Surveillance System, to monitor injury trends among World Cup athletes.
Sophie has a BSc in physiotherapy from Fontys University, Eindhoven, Netherlands (2003), and completed a MSc in sports physiotherapy at the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences in 2011. She has a varied background as a physiotherapist, including working in a private practice and following up sports teams.
