        Håvard Visnes
MD PhDCV
Håvard Visnes (b. 1974) qualified as an MD in 2006 and as a physical therapist in 1998.
In 2014, he defended his PhD thesis on "Risk factors for jumper´s knee". This 5-year project was based on a cohort of young talented volleyball players who have been assessed for potential risk factors for patellar tendinopathy (jumper´s knee).
Håvard is currently working as an orthopaedic surgeon at Hospital of Southern Norway, Kristiansand, Norway. He has been the leader of the Norwegian Knee Ligament Register 2017-23 and is still active in ACL & cartilage research.
In 2024 he published the project «Long term prognosis for jumper’s knee» in AJSM. Håvards sports background is volleyball, and he played elite volleyball for more than 10 years, where he also represented Norway on the national team.
