Lars Engebretsen appointed Chair of the WADA Health, Medical and Research Standing Committee
The World Anit-Doping Agency (WADA) have appointed Professor Lars Engebretsen as Chair of their Health, Medical and Research Standing Committee for the next 3 years, starting from 2023. WADA writes that: - they cannot protect clean sport on its own, and are extremely grateful for the contribution from Lars.
The Committee has a total of 12 members, and consists of Professors and MD`s from all around the world.
On WADA`s website it states: "The expert advice of the Health, Medical and Research (HM&R) Committee enables WADA to serve as a world leader on health, medical and research issues related to drug-free sport.
Further on: "Among many of the Committee’s activities are the monitoring of scientific developments in sport with the aim to safeguard doping-free sport practice".
